Does d
rinking an excessive amount of water improve your skins overall glow and texture? We’ve all heard it “drink more water to get glowing skin.” But is that true, many people suggest that water may not really improve your skin, while others are adamant that water gives you that great glow. Let’s go over the facts and see if it does!
Your skin IS an organ, which means it is made up of cells, exactly like every other part of you. We all know cells are made up of water and without that water your organs won’t be able to function well or even at all. When your organs lack the proper hydration they need they can’t function proper, meaning your skin may start becoming dry, flaky and tight with less resilience and glow. I think it’s safe to say NONE of us really want that, do we?
Keeping your skin hydrated will keep it plump and elastic making it less likely to crack and let in external particles that can irritate your skin. Not to mention it may help to ward off acne, as well, by decreasing your skins oil concentration. A high oil concentration in your skin causes clogged pores and breakouts.
On the other hand there are still some that believe water and staying hydrated has no effect on your actual skins appearance. They believe diet and sun exposure are what truly effect your skin.
With all this I would say it’s best to drink more water if you feel like it’s benefiting your skin. Drinking water won’t cause you harm either way, so I say stay hydrated this summer and stay healthy.
